Criminal Cases in the Gasconade County Courts
Gasconade County is part of Missouri's 20th Judicial Circuit with Franklin and Osage counties. The Gasconade County Circuit Court has general jurisdiction over felony criminal cases. Its associate circuit division handles misdemeanors, traffic matters, and other work assigned by law. Municipal matters require a court check of their own. Hermann ordinance cases transferred to Gasconade Associate Circuit Division IV in 2020. Owensville's municipal court disbanded that year, and its cases transferred to Osage County Circuit Court in Linn. Rosebud's current municipal arrangement should be confirmed through the city and Case.net. These routes matter because a city citation is not automatically a Gasconade County felony or misdemeanor file.

The official county directory places Circuit Clerk Jenny Schneider in Suite 6 of the Gasconade County Courthouse, 119 East First Street, Hermann, Missouri 65041. The counter is the fallback for an archived paper case, a public item that has no remote link, appellate-record questions, and certified or plain copies. Call 573-486-2632 before travel because no single county criminal-record schedule or current copy-fee table was verified.

Ask for the exact case number, whether inspection is available, and the cost of the requested format. For a record not held by the court, contact the office that created it. A police incident narrative remains with the police agency, while a sheriff booking record remains with the sheriff.
What the Case File Shows
A court file organizes events by case number. It shows what the prosecutor filed and what the court did. It may also show public bond or warrant events. This differs from a Missouri rap sheet, which organizes reported arrest and disposition cycles around a fingerprint-supported identity, and from a jail record, which proves intake at a particular time.

Financial entries may show public costs, fines, or balances. Service and warrant events can appear when they are not sealed. The full date of birth, Social Security number, protected address, victim or minor data, and expunged material do not belong in the ordinary public view.

Reading Gasconade Case Dispositions
The last charge line and judgment entries carry more weight than the first allegation. An acquittal is a not-guilty outcome after adjudication. A dismissal ends a charge without a conviction, though the filing may state whether the dismissal permits refiling. “Nolle prosequi” means the prosecutor formally chose not to proceed on that charge.

Stages of a Criminal Case
A Gasconade County criminal court case may begin with an arrest or citation, but the court case starts when a complaint, information, indictment, or citation is filed.
